Year Check Up Soccer and Easter!!
Many things to report since the last post...
First things first - Charlie's 1Year Check up! She is the picture of health and the dr. was impressed with her verbal (she saw a picture of a dog in a magazine and said woof) and physical (she was walking around everywhere and managed to climb onto a chair in the office) skills!
The latest stats are:
Height: 29 1/2 inches (60th percentile)
Weight: 19lbs 12oz (17th percentile)
Tall and skinny seems to run in the family (except of course for me, I have no tall).
In other news... Jack started soccer and is LOVING it! He loves his fancy soccer shorts, his cleats, shin guards and "big socks" and when he got his jersey at practice last night... Whew - I think it made his year!! His team is DEFINITELY the underdog of the league - if they score a goal all season it will be a miracle, but it's a great group of kids (7 boys and 3 girls) and they all seem to be enjoying it! At practice last night there was a little girl picking flowers, one doing cartwheels in the background, and Jack was playing in the grass looking for bugs so... I think it's pretty typical for a team full of four year olds!
Stretching out before the first Practice.
Jack Charlie and Lucy
Charlie coloring - we can tell the masterpiece is finished when she starts eating the crayons!
Jack's mention on the local news for his bracket picks!
More news! John successfully completed his first half marathon a few weekends ago! Poor guy had horrible running conditions - in the 40s and POURING the entire time, he came home so wet he was pruney!! But he had a great time (how this is possible I don't know) doing it and has decided to push on for a full marathon! More power to him!!
Jack enjoyed his first spring break (hilarious that they have spring break when they only go two days a week) with a big trip to the zoo with his cousins who were also on spring break! He was SO excited about the trip and thought it was the coolest thing to get to sit between them in the "way back" on the way there and back! It was a perfect afternoon!
Easter was hilarious! Charlie got lots of practice hunting eggs before the big day and did great until she realized there was stuff in the eggs and then she decided it would be much easier to just go around to other people's baskets and see what they had already found!
Things have been going great at home - we've been enjoying the beautiful spring weather and have started the countdown to summer - only 8 more weeks of school, soccer and starting tomorrow swimming lessons!!
Check the photosite for LOTS of pictures of what we've been up to lately!
