You should see the other guy!!

Yesterday marked the first (of many if he takes after either his daddy or mommy) injury for our little guy... Unfortunately it was all Mommy's fault!! Notice the shiner under his eye... Things started out innocently enough - we were trying to find a picture of a Brio Train set on-line so that John could see what Jack was playing with at storytime and then it happened... Jack spit up all over his shirt so of course being the wonderful mommy that I am I had to get the soaking shirt off the little guy and just as I'd pulled the shirt off from over his tiny head WHAM - his little face hit the edge of the computer desk. We thought we were going to get by without a big scene - I held my breath and made no reaction to see if he was going to cry or not and then he looked up at me and WAILED! It was awful... so of course the horrible guilt sets in and I start crying too... not a good scene. Luckily by the time John got home (a few minutes later) we had both calmed down and we now realize we can make it through minor injuries without being any worse for wear - plus as John says the shiner makes him look more manly and we can always lie and say he got into some sort of storytime brawl instead of the truth that Mommy did something stupid!! I am happy to report that he takes after his Daddy in the bruising department and looks MUCH better today!
