What Derby??

We had a great weekend! The fun started on Thursday because Jack's buddy Will came over to play! Jack had so much fun standing in his exersaucer watching Will roll the cars down the slide - Jack can't wait to be a big kid! We also went up to the park and got to see a Momma Duck, a Daddy Duck and EIGHT Baby Ducks!! Jack played in the swing while watching Will do the Big Kid things like go down the slide and climb on the equipment - such fun!
Cinco de Mayo was marked by staying in and having fish sandwiches (of course!)... Nothing too exciting there! Jack needed to rest up for his first Derby party and the arrival of Andy Jeni and Drew the next day! Unfortunately we'd built the day up so much in Jack's mind he was just WAY too excited to take a descent nap before hand so we had a SLIGHT melt down at the party. Thank goodness the enormous puking incident happened on ME and not while Connie was holding him! We think he was just a little overwhelmed by all his fans so we set up shop out on a blanket in the yard so Jack could watch everyone play corn hole and things calmed down from there. In fact, he was SO calm out on the blanket we stayed outside during the race and missed the entire thing! I'm happy to report that Jack's horse from the drawing did come in third though so that's $5.00 into the college fund!! Or maybe it will go towards my mother's day present... hummmm the choice is his on what he'd like to spend it on!
This week Jack will go to his third birthday party. His cousin Emma is turning SEVEN so we'll be celebrating that on Thursday with some yummy Grater's Ice cream! And of course Sunday marks our first Mother's Day so we'll have all the exciting details from that next week! Check the photo site for updated pictures!
