Stranger Danger

Today, Jack learned a very important lesson: if you meet a stranger and are very, very cute, and smile at her and flirt.....there's a very good chance that she'll stick three needles into your upper thigh. Yes, today marked the two month visit for Jack which of course included the obligatory puncture wounds of youth. The rest of the day included as much screaming as the first two months of life combined. Jack learned a lot about the cold, cruel world today.
On a more pleasant note, Jack now weighs 13 lbs. 1 oz. The doctors seem to think that the average child will gain 2 lbs. a month from now until the 1 year birthday. We're pretty sure that's not going to happen in Jack's case, because that would mean he's going to be a 33 lb. one-year-old. Wow.
He's also 24 1/2 inches tall (long?), which makes him pretty much off the charts on height (length?). So he's not quite the fat bastard that we thought. Average weight + above average height = well proportioned child. Excellent.
Other than that, Jack's life has settled down into a pretty good routine: days with less and less sleep, and nights with more and more. Most nights he makes it through with only 1 feeding, which we hear will eventually become zero. For now, we're thanking our lucky stars that we got one of the easy babies. Famous last words, surely.
We know we've been a bit lazy on the Blogging, but that is going to change. Now that the shell shock has worn off, we're back in full fighting form. More to come, of course.
