Playing in the snow!

Lots of developments for the Wee One over the last week. He now has two more teeth (on the top) and has become an expert at squatting to get something and standing back up. He's a pro at soccer (seriously - he walks all over the house kicking the ball along) and is learning a few simple signs. He figured out "more" and is working on "all done". We've also noticed that over the last couple of days he's started to point to indicate what he wants - he's just so smart!! This evening in the tub I was telling him he was holding an orange starfish and when I said "fish" he made the fish face that I always make to him when we're reading our books! So smart!!
It's hard to believe the title of this post would be Playing in the Snow considering our weather this week is in the 60s, but last week it did snow and Jack had a wonderful time playing on the back porch in it. He was completely amazed by it. He grabbed a huge handful of it off the table and looked like he was close to crying, but then he just threw it to the ground and had a great time watching his footprints as he walked around the porch! It's so wonderful watching things through his eyes, it's like realizing how wonderful and exciting all the things that we've taken for granted over the years are!
Not much else exciting to report on our end - check out the photosite for some pictures of Jack playing in the snow!

Jolly Ol' St. Nick

We took Jack to the mall this weekend to get his picture taken with Santa. It all started out so well - we only had to wait in line for about ten minutes and Jack was excited - ready! John handed him off to the Jolly Ol' Man and things were okay - he was a little unsure, but was quite fascinated by his furry sleeves... we managed to get a few cute pictures of him with the Big Guy and then Jack turned around and realized he had no idea who was holding him and that was it - he wanted far far away from the bearded man... He started reaching for me and trying with all his might to get away from St. Nick and when I didn't get there fast enough we had REAL TEARS... for those who don't know Jack very well he NEVER produces real tears - it's the rare occasion that he really cries. But once he was in my arms he calmed down quickly and even managed to point and smile at Santa while we were checking out so I'd say the visit was a success. He still hasn't told us what he asked Santa for though - he's very good at keeping secrets! After the visit with Santa we met Nan and Poppy for some wonderful Mexican food. Jack had the best time walking around the restuarant with Nan and sitting in Poppy's lap after everyone had finished! Check out the photosite for some updated pictures!
