Three Day Weekend!!

What fun! What fun! A three day weekend! Three days in a ROW of Daddy time - it was a blast! We started off the weekend with a special treat of Daddy getting home early from a business trip! We of course spent ALL our time outside doing things around the house and in the back yard! Sat. we went for a long bike ride that included a trip to the bank (through the drive thru, which Jack thought was hilarious) the library AND lunch! Sun. had to be the hit of the weekend though - we all piled into our good friend's van and headed up to the Cincy Zoo! It was a blast! Jack's favorites this time were the rhinoceros, the snakes, and the vampire bats that yes, were actually drinking BLOOD! Blah!! Such a BOY!! He had a blast on the train ride and loved being able to share the zoo experience with his good buddies Andrew and Ian! Yesterday we took it easy around the house and John and Jack braved the cold water and went up to the pool for a bit before we had some friends over for a cookout - it was a great weekend!!

Enjoy some videos from the last week or two and be sure to check the photosite out for some updated pictures!

Big Boy Bed!!!!

Well, Sat. afternoon Jack decided to take the leap and for the first time EVER climbed, or rather THUMPED, out of his crib... after hearing the awful sound and the tears that followed (he was unhurt in the thumping) we decided that it was time to transition to the big boy bed! Jack LOVES it!! He's such a good boy - he stays in until we come in to get him and had SO much fun going to pick out his "truck sheets for my very own big boy bed."

More updates!

Lots of excitement for us lately... Jack's best buddy Andrew is now a big brother as Ian was welcomed into the world on 4/24! The best part of this was not just that Andrew has a happy healthy brother, but that while Mom and Dad were in the hospital with the new one Andrew got to stay with us so Jack got to have his buddy stay with us for THREE nights! They were so sweet together and had such a great time and now Jack has access to a baby (which he is obsessed with) whenever he wants!!

In other news - not a lot else to report. Some good news is that Jack is no longer afraid of the kite and had a blast last Sunday playing at the park and flying the kite with Daddy! This week Jack was diagnosed with a staph infection so we've been keeping to ourselves and haven't done a whole lot. The good news is that it's not really bothering him! He's just got a spot on his head that is kind of gross, but it's localized and hasn't spread to anywhere else so as long as we're not touching the spot that hurts he's just fine! With his antibiotics he's not supposed to be exposed to the sun though so how fortunate for us that this moring it was warm-ish and RAINING! So we put on our boots and went for a LONG walk through the neighborhood splashing in puddles and using our umbrellas! It's the first time we've been out all week so it was a great treat! Check out some videos from our week! Also - a bunch of new pictures are on the photosite!
