Six Month Check Up.

Charlie had her six month check up yesterday. She was not too happy about the shots - especially having to leave the pediatricians office to go to the health department for her flu shot, but she is doing well today and got a clean bill of health! The latest stats are:
Height: 26in (although I think she was cheated at LEAST 1/2 inch - when will they come up with a better way to measure these little munchkins??) putting her in the 55th percentile.
Weight: 16lbs 7.5oz putting her in the 58th percentile.

In other news Jack is LOVING school. He runs right into the classroom from carpool never once looking back to see what Charlie and I are doing. He has all sorts of wonderful stories about what goes on all day (some I'm SURE are made up) at "work." I think he is enjoying having something all his own that Mommy and Daddy really have no idea about. He was the snack helper on Tues. (Red Day) and his teacher said he was SO excited about the red muffins (an entire bottle of red food coloring in a batch of whole wheat muffins) and apple halves that we brought!

Not much else to report. Check back soon for the latest!

Daddy pushes Jack MUCH higher than Mommy does...

Charlie's latest trick.

Jack really enjoys reading to Charlie lately - so cute!!

Success!!!

Lots to report since yesterday... about an hour after the last post Charlie found her groove and started CRAWLING!! Yes, that's right - six days before her six month birthday the little munchkin is officially mobile. I didn't have a chance to take any videos today, but here is her second wobbly attempt... of course today I put her down on one side of the family room and turned around and she's all the way across the room so she's really got it figured out now!!

Crawling Charlie.

The final butterfly release.

This one stuck around long enough for him to hold it!

In other news Jack DID finally make to school today. He was very brave. A little nervous, but I'm happy to report that there were no tears from either Jack OR Mommy this morning. His teacher said he had a great morning and mainly observed the classroom (which was totally expected). Most importantly Jack has said that he "will go back on Thursday." So that's good.

Ready for school!

He had flowers for his teacher, but unfortunately Charlie got a hold of them and broke the stems before he could give them to her...

A picture his teacher sent me today of Jack playing at school!

We think he's going to have a great year!

No school - yet...

Well, our hopes of perfect attendance for Jack his first year of school have been shattered... The poor guy had a nasty stomach bug on his first day and spent the entire day lying on the couch. When he got better that evening and felt great all the next day we thought surely he'd be able to make it to his SECOND day of school, but no - he woke up with a high fever that morning (left over from the stomach bug? We don't know...) so he had to stay home again... So - we're hoping the 3rd time is the charm and that he will FINALLY get to go to school tomorrow! Check back soon for details...

In the meantime here are some videos of what we've been up to since our last post.

The Greatest Show on Earth!!!

We've been keeping busy over the last few weeks! Jack has been quite busy caring for his caterpillars lately... our two Black Swallowtails have since turned into butterflies and been released and now we have three Monarchs on the way! He's a proud proud boy!!

We took a trip up to Cincinnati for Free Friday at the Children's Museum and so that Daddy could see the Dinosaurs that Jack has been talking about all summer - they were still a huge hit!

Charlie has graduated the the Duck Tub... such a big girl!!! She loves being out of the infant tub and makes quite a mess with all her splashing!! She's getting close to crawling - I hate to say it, but I think it's going to be soon! She gets up on her hands and knees and just rocks and rocks... won't be long before our little girl is mobile - YIKES!!

The most exciting thing though has got to be the Circus!!! Jack was so cute taking it all in! He was a little overwhelmed at first, but by the second act he was out of seat and dancing and clapping having a great time (without his earmuffs!!)! His favorite part was at the end when they shot confetti everywhere (he got to bring a piece home as a souvenir!!) and I think he really enjoyed the pre-show watching the elephant paint. He keeps coming up with different things that he's been processing every day so I figure in a month or two we'll have the whole story of what he really thought of it!

Other than that we've just been gearing up for Jack to start school - I can't believe he's old enough for pre-school! He starts next Tues. and is SO excited!! Check back for all the details next week. In the meantime enjoy these videos of what we've been up to and check the photosite for 47 new pictures!!
