Latest Updates

We have been busy busy busy... Charlie had her tubes put in on 2/4 and did great with the procedure. She was in and out in no time and has been such a little chatterbox since! Her balance has gotten a lot better too and she is minutes away from walking on her own - she's SOOO close! We had her follow-up appt. today and everything went great. She got a perfect score on her hearing screening and since she has so many well visits coming up we don't have to go back to the ENT unless there is an issue.

We took Jack roller skating for the first time for Kathie's surprise birthday party! He had such a good time. By the time we left he was quite good at skating on the carpet - still needed a bit of help on the hardwood, but he did great on the carpet.

Charlie is working on several teeth so she's been pretty sad over the last couple of days... I'm hoping they break through this week because we've got a big trip planned up to see Great Gma this weekend - Jack is so excited about the visit!

Check the photosite for a BUNCH of pictures of what we've been up to over the last couple of weeks!

Charlie's favorite part of bath time - putting the toys into the tub!

The snowman song.

Musical genius.

The Valentine Song.

Climber.

Success at the top - now her favorite thing to do is slide down the slide on her belly and do it all over again!!

The blog has been having some issues with videos lately so if you can't get them to play they are also on the photosite - down at the bottom!! Enjoy!

Polar Bear Plunge!

As you know John has volunteered to do the Polar Bear Plunge to help support the Special Olympics. Unfortunately the jump just so happens to be the day that he has to leave for Japan so to thank everyone for their donations and support John did his own version of the plunge today. To let you know the outside temperature at the time of these pictures and videos was 30 degrees and it has been snowing off and on all day here. His hair when he came in was FROZEN!!! So, thanks to everyone who donated to such a wonderful cause and please enjoy the video and pictures of John's suffering!

** For some reason this site is having issues with playing back video - if you go to the photosite (link on the right) and scroll down to the bottom there is a section for videos - if you can't get the video to play check it out on the photosite!! **

John's message to everyone!!

And here are the pictures leading up to the video...
Getting the hair wet in preparation!

Testing the water...

Easing in...

Making sure he's TOTALLY soaked!

Does he look miserable enough???

Thank you again to everyone that donated to such a wonderful cause!!

4 Year Check Up!

Jack had his four year check up on Friday and is the picture of health! The latest stats are:
Height: 41.5in (73rd percentile)
Weight: 37.6lbs (62nd percentile)

That is up from 38 1/2 inches and 32 1/4lbs at his three year check up. The dr. thinks he's hilarious (and she's right). They just talked and talked and carried on some of the funniest conversations! He had his hearing and vision screening (passed both with flying colors) and thought it was funny that he was taking tests at the dr. office and he had to get FOUR shots. The little man was SO brave! He handled it better than I would have for sure - four shots in your thighs - ouch - and not a single tear! He walked right in and told the nurse, "I know I'm getting shots today, but Daddy told me you're an expert and they'll keep me from getting sick so lets go ahead and do them." Seriously...

In Charlie news... as of last Tues. she got her sixth ear infection in five months so... we've got an appt. with the ENT Dr. tomorrow. Looks like tubes are in our future. Poor thing! And as if the ear infection weren't bad enough she got a NASTY stomach bug and spent Wed/Thurs. very ill. She's feeling better now and is regaining some of her appetite! It has been a pitiful couple of days for the little lady.

With that said we didn't do a whole lot over the weekend. We got a big (by KY standards) snow storm and Daddy (hero that he is) brought Jack a sled back from his latest trip to MI so they had a GREAT time sledding all weekend!

Here are some videos of what we've been up to lately and check the photosite for some updated pictures!!

Charlie's latest talent: Peek A Boo!

Jack going down the hill!

Jack and Daddy going down the hill!

More sledding fun!

The last of the sledding videos!

I'll post soon about what the dr. says about Charlie's ears! Check the photosite for a bunch of new pictures!
