Jack and Charlotte's Life: January 2008

2 Year Check Up

Jack had his two year check up today and if it weren't for the mild cold he has right now he would be the picture of health! The latest stats are in... Height - 36 inches!!! (Up from 34 at 18 months) Weight - 27lbs 10oz (Up from 24lbs 5.5oz at 18 months). The latest measurements put him in the 85th and 45th percentiles respectively. Jack had a SLIGHT meltdown during the appt. only because in what can only be described as a miracle in the medical profession we were called back to SEE the dr. before we had even finished registering and updating the new phone number! He was SO upset that he didn't get to see the fish that he didn't quite recover throughout the appt. He made his vocabulary skills known though as he was screaming at the top of his lungs "Jack go back out and see those fish RIGHT NOW" over and over... He had to get two shots today, Hep A and flu (which I thought we had already done, but apparently not) and he handled them well. I thought the poor nurse was going to cry - after getting his shots he was crying and looked directly up at the nurse (who was a woman) and said "that guy hurt Jack." Poor thing... Not a lot else to report - check the photosite for some updated pictures! In the meantime enjoy his two year photos that we had taken last week!

Happy 2nd Birthday!!!

Well, our little boy is officially TWO!! And he'll definitely let you know it! He LOVES saying "I'm TWO" to anyone that will listen!!! He had a fantastic party and loved having all his family and friends over to celebrate! He was a huge fan of his "choo choo train cake" and was so excited that he got to pick which car he was going to eat (the engine)!!! He LOVED blowing out the candles and having everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to him - so much so that we had we to do it three times! ABCs

Jack is a huge fan of singing the ABC song and I finally got some video of him doing it! Please pardon the slight pause for a bite, but it seems the ONLY time I can get him to sit still to take a video of him is during breakfast so... If only you could eat and play the harmonica at the same time I'd have video of him rocking out with his new harmonica! Ah, the downfall of digital cameras... great for making sure you have the picture/video you want - terrible when you have an almost two year old that knows he can see himself on the other side of the blasted thing and that's all he wants to do!!!
Not a lot of excitement going on with us - we're settling into our post-holiday routine and missing having Daddy around terribly. We all got a little spoiled over the 12 Days of Daddy... We're back in the swing of things though with Gymboree storytime and our playgroup so we're keeping busy!
Of course we're preparing for Jack's b-day in just EIGHT DAYS!! My goodness I can't believe our little boy is going to be TWO! Not a lot of pictures have been taken after the hundreds that were taken over Christmas so I just posted some of the new ones here... Check back soon - I'll try to get b-day pictures up as soon as possible!
