Party All the Time!!

What a week! Jack had so many parties to go to... We haven't had yoga for a few weeks because our instructor adopted a beautiful little girl so after our first class back (which was Wed.) we had a little baby shower for her! Then Wed. night there was another party to go to. Tim's family was in town so we got to go over and have dinner with them! Friday was a two party day too! Jack's buddy Will turned two years old so we went to his party in the morning and then that night Jack got to go to a baby shower! Jack is quite the people watcher so he had a great time at all the events! The weekend was a pretty relaxing one. Sat. we went to Babies R Us and decided on the next car seat for Mr. Jack - he's at about 19 pounds now and his current seat only takes him to 22 so we figured we'd better get on the ball about that! We've got the one we want all picked out and got to try it out in the car to be sure it fits and everything so we're all ready to go on that. Other than that not much went on! We've got a nice week ahead... John's out of town tonight, but then he's off on Friday for a five day weekend due to the 4th of July holiday! We're definitely looking forward to that!

Happy Father's Day

What a wonderful Father's Day weekend! We got up on Sat. and Jack surprised his Daddy with a trip to the Four Roses Distillery. It was a great tour and Jack was so well behaved through the entire thing! Jack got to see the entire process of how bourbon is made and is now of course an expert on the subject! After the tour we grabbed a quick lunch and then spent the rest of the day hanging out at home. On Sunday Jack surprised his Daddy with a big breakfast and then we went to Lowes to get some herbs for the flower boxes John built a few weekends ago. (They look great on the back porch!!) It was a great weekend - nice and relaxing!

Two-Way Roller!

Well, it's official - Jack is now a two-way roller... or a bi-roller, which is extremely fitting given his nickname of late (Roly Bi-poly). As you all know I stay home with Jack and therefore am with the child just about every minute of his waking life so you may be shocked to hear that the first TWO times the child rolls from back to front I missed it! I suppose he just wanted to give his Daddy an early Father's Day gift and do it only for him the first couple of times! John of course is SO excited that he once again got to witness a "first" for the Little One and how special it is that it was a Father/Son occasion being so close to Father's Day. The first rolling occurred on Sunday afternoon (I was upstairs doing laundry) and then John had to go out of town on Monday so there was no rolling Mon. or Tues. This morning before John headed off to work was rolling #2 (I was still in bed trying to catch up on some rest considering the Wee One decided sleep was not for him last night and was STILL up at six this morning). I was so sad to hear I'd missed it yet again, but then at about 8:30 this morning I suppose he'd decided it was time to let me in on the fun (or that he REALLY didn't want his diaper changed) and did it while I was changing his diaper (on the floor)! And then did it again, and again, and again! So, it's official - the child is well on his way to being mobile!!! YIKES!
Jack has been working SO hard on his Father's Day gift for John. We're going on a secret adventure (Jack has been kind enough to fill me in on the plans, but his Daddy doesn't know where we are going) on Sat. so check back next week for the update on the First Father's Day!
There are a few updated pictures on the photo site - check back next week for more!

A slow week!

Not much of interest to report this week... It's been a nice relaxing week for all of us so no complaints there! Jack is getting SO good at sitting up on his own (as evidenced by the picture to your left). He's good on his own for just about long enough to focus the camera and get a picture - then you'd better be ready to catch him!
We went up to the park on Monday and Jack had a great time watching John feed the ducks - he thought all their quacking was just hilarious and laughed and laughed while they all nimbled away at his feet.
We're having Nan and Poppy over for a farewell dinner on Sat. before they head off for their three week European Vacation and that's about it for our plans for the weekend.
