Fall Fun!

We've been keeping busy over the last couple of weeks. The kids are still recovering from their sicknesses, but I'd say we're back to about 90% now... They are both very excited for Halloween and love wearing their costumes. We've taken several walks through the neighborhood preparing for the big night!!
I took the kids to the orchard this morning to pick apples - unfortunately the people there did not tell me (even when I asked) that all the apples had been picked so we walked forever out to the orchard (no stroller mind you) to discover that there were no apples to pick so it was a LONG walk back (carrying Charlie) but it was made better by the promise of apple donuts, cider and a train ride. Check out the photo site for some pictures.
We also made our semi-annual trip out to Keeneland (Thank you McKinstrys) which both kids loved. Charlie is so horse obsessed now it's getting a little disturbing! Not much else to report... check out the photo site for a bunch of new pictures!

Ready for Halloween!!

Halloween is in full swing in the Boyd Household - the kids are READY!! They have their costumes picked out - they have one (of the two) pumpkins carved - they have tie dyed t-shirts - bring it on! We are ready!

Not a lot to report, except for that we went to the zoo today and took a lot of cute pictures so I thought I'd do a quick post and tell everyone to check the photo site! Jack was quite impressed with feeding the birds nectar and really enjoyed meeting the snake - a boa, who unlike most snakes has live babies instead of laying eggs... the things you learn!!

Both kids are feeling better - still dragging a bit, but I suppose it takes a while to get over it when you've been that sick!

Enjoy the pictures - more soon!

Two Sick Kids

Not a lot to report from the Boyd Household... the kids have not been well. First we took Charlie in and after some chest x-rays she was determined to have borderline pneumonia... got some lovely antibiotics and were told if she gets worse come back right away - if she stays the same come back at the end of the week and if she gets better - celebrate!! Fortunately on the DAY we were to make the decision of is she the same or better we decided she was better so, we celebrated - quietly. Because Jack has walking pneumonia. Not fun. He came home from school last week and ASKED to take a nap (from the boy who did not sleep anymore this was quite odd) and then just kept getting worse and worse. After his fever spiked to almost 103 we took him into the dr. and after more chest x-rays and blood work he was just down right sick - walking pneumonia. So - its been a long week with lots of lying on the couch and lots of sleeping and even some throwing up from coughing so much... the fun never stops!! But fortunately both children are now somewhat back. Jack finally made it back to school today and even though it thoroughly tired him out he had a good day. There are not a lot of pictures to post, but there are a few updated ones on the photo site and here is a picture of the family with the beloved Scarecrow - back for another season of fun!! Enjoy!
