Gymboree Day!

First of all: Thank you Great Great Aunt Laura for my beautiful sweater! We had a really hard time getting Jack to stay still long enough to get a really good picture of him in it, but we thought this one was cute! The sweater is so beautiful - thank you so much for making it!

Not a lot to report from the Boyd Household... we had a great time at the Gymboree Gym class and are considering if we sign up for another session taking that class instead of music. Jack loved climbing on all of the the different equipment and going down the slides!! John had a great time watching him at work too - we just laughed and laughed at how independent he is, he could have cared less if we were there or not, it was all about playing!

We had a quiet weekend at home. Uncle Josh came over on Sat. evening and played with Jack for a while so that was a nice little treat! Josh got suckered into pulling Jack around on Jerry the Giraffe for oh, about 30 minutes so it was a nice little break for us! Not to much else to report from our snowy snowy weekend... check out the photo site for some pictures of Jack helping John shovel the walk! As you can see from the photo on the left - Jack's latest talent is climbing... he's discovered he can get ON just about anything and is SO proud of himself when he does. We're not sure how we feel about this yet, but it's so cute to watch him go!!

Just Chillin'

Not a whole lot of excitement to report from the Boyd Household lately... we've been sticking close to home and spending a lot of time indoors with all this nasty cold weather, but I suppose we shouldn't complain about that! We did do a few exciting things last week... Jack got to go to lunch with my old (sorry Craig, I should say former) co-workers and then we went to visit our friends Joe Julie and Will in the hospital. They welcomed the newest member of their family, Lauren, into the world on Tues. (the sixth) and since Jack is SUCH a fan of babies (it's his best word right now) we had to go see her. She's so beautiful and Will is so proud of his little sister! Jack was fascinated by seeing her and wanted to hold her right away (he of course was not allowed to!). He didn't say too much while we were there, but the whole way home he kept saying "Baby" "Baby" over and over... so cute!
John took off work on Friday and to celebrate my birthday we went to Jack's favorite restaurant for lunch - Moe's! He will eat an entire child's size quesadilla from there, he loves it! We figured since he was staying at home with Nan that evening while we went out to celebrate he should have his favorite for lunch! The birthday was so much fun and we spent the rest of the weekend relaxing at home.
Not a lot of excitement to report this week - it's week #2 of no music class due to snow, but we're very excited for this afternoon because John's taking a half day and we're all going to a Gym class. I'll bring the camera and take lots of pictures! I suppose that's about it... oh, one tidbit of news: John is starting a new job on Monday! We're all very excited about the new position and while we're sad to say good-bye to his current job, we're very excited for the new experience and opportunity!

The Polar Bear Plunge!

Last weekend was the much anticipated Polar Bear Plunge! The temps were in the low 40's and the water temp was in the 30's I believe - thankfully I didn't have to test that! John took one for the team (Speical Olympics) and was the ONLY person out of over three hundred jumpers to jump solo! We were so proud of him and thank you so much to everyone who made a contribution to such a great cause!

The rest of that weekend was spent relaxing and taking it easy. Jack got his first big boy haircut! It took a little getting used to, but it's so cute! He just looks like such a big guy now... we did it with the clippers in the bath tub (no water in the tub of course!) and now it's all uniform and the same length - our little guy is growing up so quickly!

Last week was cold and quiet... we went to storytime and music and that was about it for our activities. We got a big snow (by KY standards) on Friday and Jack had SO much fun playing in it. We of course spent more time getting ready to go out in the snow than we spent playing in it, but it was fun just the same! Once Jack figured out he could eat the snow we had to call it a day pretty quickly... he was just freezing his poor little face shoving handful after handful into his mouth! Check the photo site for more pictures!
